Pneumatic counters (also called Pneumatic pulse counters or totalizing counters) are used to regulate and numerically monitor processes in pneumatic controls and systems. They can be used for counting in all types of operations where processes can be expressed in pneumatic pulses and provide the option of either manual or pneumatic resetting of the counter value to zero before a new counting operation begins.

These features allow the counters to be used as an event, piece or batch counter, as an integrator for program step display and much more.

Frequently asked questions

Pneumatic totalizing counters are primarily used in compressed air controlled systems and machinery to allow processes to be directly controlled and counted pneumatically, which offers considerable technical and price advantages.
Entering the preset time:
Turn the front button until the selected value is displayed at the mark on the left. If the air supply at input 1 is interrupted before the specified time has elapsed, the timer unit is reset to the selected value.

Display:
The right-hand figure drum shows the time until the next signal.

Pneumatic timer units are used to carry out time dependent signal control functions in pneumatic control systems or installations.

After the preselected period of time has elapsed, pressure is applied to the output of the pneumatic timer unit. The signal remains active until the compressed air supply at input 1 is interrupted for at least 200ms, in which case the preselected value is set again.

Depending on the version, you can select periods from 0.2s to 300s.

Pneumatic pulse counters with an ATEX approval can be used in potentially explosive environments, as pneumatically controlled processes are often the only option when electrical control systems either do not meet the requirements for explosion prevention, or can do so only at great expense.
